"Thanks to all your efforts.  Appreciate you not giving up on it."

The Buckels had this grouping idea for his office.  We printed images to size and framed so pictures can be traded out as they take new photos from future trips.

This is K. Miller of Wichita great grandpa Thomas Whittemore Mitchell, born Feb. 9, 1834 Milo, ME and died Nov. 10, 1915 , Burlingame, Ks..   He was Union 5th Kansas Cavalry Co D.  Enlisted August 7, 1861 and Mustered out Sept. 5th, 1864.

The goal for this restoration was to bring back the detail and enhance while maintaining an aged look.  The original was a hand colored tin type with gold leaf lines on jacket and ring finger.  With the naked eye it is hard to see these elements.  The original size is about 2.75" x 3.25".  We restored this piece in a manner were it could be printed up to about 40" wide with out getting weird.  Many of the old photographic process make it possible to have nice size prints produced by us.

Jack,  When I was in last week and saw the framed picture, I'm sure that my mouth dropped open.  That is beyond words how that tiny tintype looking like it does could look like that, just adds to the skills that you have to do it.  I took a picture of it with your daughter.  My sons would like to have me get a picture with the two of us standing by it and also one of me with great grandfather...  Thanks.

"WE WANTED A NICE PICTURE FOR MY MOMS MEMORIAL SERVICE .
This was the best we could find.  She had cataract surgery so her right eye was real red.  We
asked Jack if the baby could be taken out.  Jack did a wonderful job I highly recommend them.

- Sylvia Maxwell -

Just FYI, the family all loved it, and wished we had made one for them (we have a big family, so we told them we could always do more, if they wanted to pay - no takers yet on that one).

"This picture is a treasure to our family, as the individuals in the picture, now deceased, were powerful motivators for many within the family. They gave freely of their time, their talents and resources to all of us.  These pictures were at the very beginning of their marriage when John was getting ready to go off to war (WWII).  The family was very touched by seeing how much they were in love even during those early years of their marriage.  They deeply loved each other for many, many years - again setting up a model for the whole family.  Thanks, Jack, for restoring and producing this work of art to commemorate these two very special people."

The arts have long been an integral part of my life from drawing, painting, singing, acting to playing an instrument.  If it was an artform, I was involved.  Through it all, the pencil was a favorite and foundation for all I created.
Earning a BFA in drawing & painting from Kansas University  and a masters in teaching from Friends University led to a teaching career where I could share my passion for the arts with public school students.
Recently, I began a home-based art business that encompasses commissioned works, gallery shows, regional and international competitions and private lessons.
In addition, I am teaching digital photography to students across the state of Kansas for Manhattan-Ogden’s online academy and ceramics and beginning art for Andover public schools.
Currently, I am creating a series of drawings focusing on the reflective nature of metal using colored pencil.  I use a muli-layer color application technique in a highly realistic manner.  This work is entitled ‘107 Cubic Inches’.  The drawing has been juried into the 18th Annual International Exhibition 2010 sponsored by the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA) in Los Gatos, CA. at The Art Museum of Los Gatos.
Art & Frame has framed the bulk of my work and is recommended to my clients for all of their framing needs.  With the consulting of ‘A & F’, we used a new line of ‘car-finish’ – like framing to further enhance the visual impact of this work.  It is this attention to detail that leads me to ‘A & F’ for my framing needs.

Pictured is Grandpa H. displaying his Father's Day gift.  Each picture captures a grandchild & their favorite activity on Grandpa's farm.  To name of few are fishing, hunting, playing in the sand, & riding quad runners.  Art & Frame was exceptional in meeting all my needs of professionalism, quality craftsmanship, timeliness & budget.  Thanks Jack

This was a fun time to be included in on the Ballard familys Fathers day gift unvailing.  Thank you for letting us be apart of the excitement.

My friend from Aztec, New Mexico gave this sand painting to me as a present.  I will continue to rave about you and your staff's expertise and personalized service. It is not everyday I recommend to family and friends a business that I completely trust to care as well as enhance a precious memory. You and your staff's sensitivity and professionalism have earned that right.

These are colored pencil drawings done by Royce Jones, Daves father.  Royce passed away in 2006 and these are of great sentimental value.  Last year they did a project for my dad for fathers day.  I allways go to Art & Frame.

In 2006 I served as a Peace Corps volunteer in South Africa.  While there, I lived with the Sibiya family in Gemsbokspruit, Mpumalanga.  The title of this watercolor is "Gogo moMkhulu", which means "Grandma and Grandpa" in isiNbebele.  One afternoon I asked Gogo if I could take a photo of the two of them together  they seemed to disappeared for awhile, but then emerged from the house wearing their traditonal Ndebele beads.

"I am excited to share your website with my South African relatives who can access the intenet.  Thanks, and I look forward to having you do more framing for me!"

"I do cross stitch projects in the winter.
This is the third one for my grandchildren that
Art & Frame has framed.  I use to go to one of the large craft stores until I discovered the folks at Gordan's Picture Framing a few years ago.  After experiencing what good design and service is I never went back to the box store.
When Gordan's went out of business I gave Art & Frame a try.  I don't know any thing about picking mat colors and frames.  Tara is a great help with that - knows more than me.  She explained what colors worked and why.  I will be back with my next project."

You just took a picture of three generations...
It looks great!  I feel better now seeing it all done.  Thanks for getting it done in time for the party.  I don't have things framed very often but I'll be back."

"I brought my sons first drawing in along with
this one to be framed just two days ago.  This
one has been sitting on our fire place mantle.
These eyes have been following me around for
days.  I wanted to have my sons art framed in
time for our graduation party.  I really didn't
expect anyone to do that on such short notice...
You guys are the bomb!"

We have been remodeling and brought in

several pieces to be rematted along with
a few new pieces.   One of the Monet canvas-
transfers was especially striking.  This one of
my daughter was the most difficult to decide
on.  My son had come in with me when we
were doing the design.  He and Jack liked this
idea.  Now that I see it finished - I like it too.
The pale gold comes off nice and will go
with my decor.

"We are very happy with our girls graduation picture.  Art & Frame rushed this so we would have it for their graduation party.  Will be back to have our youngest daughter done."
